New Releases for Your Tastebuds

by Farley

Rosenblum tasting room weekday crew
I’m not sure when this menu will change again, as Open House always seems to throw off my schedule….

But here it is, including some new releases:

Complimentary Tasting

White & Rosé
2006 Marsanne, Preston Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley $25
Get your Chardonnay fix the exotic way:
With guava, apple, citrus, and toasted almonds

2005 Rosé, North Coast, Appellation Series $6 low, final price
No sweet stuff here:
Just lemon zest, bright cherries, raspberries, and strawberries

Reds
2006 Zinfandel, Contra Costa County, Appellation Series $18
For fans of the lighter-styled Zinfandel, indulge yourself in
cinnamon-dusted plums, washed down with a cherry-vanilla cola

2005 Pinot Noir, Lyons Vineyard, Napa Valley $25 on sale
On the opposite end of the spectrum, this Pinot is bigger than usual:
Freshly picked flowers, smoke from the chimney, and raspberries on the table

2006 Petite Sirah, Heritage Clones, Appellation Series $18
Similar to the last great vintage, this one hints at smoked bacon and biscuits rising in the oven, while a jar of currant jam waits to be spread

*Reserve Flight - $5.00 *
2005 Zinfandel, Cullinane Reserve, Sonoma Valley $45
Finally released, you’ll se why we’ve made this one from the start:
Lovely notes of eucalyptus, black currant and blackberry

2005 Zinfandel, St. Peter’s Church Reserve, Sonoma Valley $55
See what the fervor is all about for this little vineyard in Cloverdale:
Cocoa and black fruits that grow deeper and richer with time

2005 Syrah, Holbrook Mitchell Reserve, Napa Valley $45
Amazingly smooth for a new release—like velvet washing over you
Tastes of plum, raspberry, and cedar

,

An older tasting menu I particularly like: this one

    hey Farley
I figured Rosenblum must make white wines, but it is funny you never here about ‘em. I love your Chardonnay description - I will have to keep an eye out for it as well as I see you make a Viognier. Do you distribute these or are they only from the tasting room?

    take care
    John

  2. Farley Says:

    John,

We do distribute them some, especially the Viognier. And they’re available online. But my favorite, the Marsanne, is tasting room only–so you won’t see it elsewhere.

Aren’t you in Virginia? Or somewhere we can ship? Let me know and I’ll get you a deal….Cheers!

  3. John Witherspoon Says:

Yeah the Good Old Dominion is a ship to state. What would it take to get a couple of bottles of the Marsanne?? wink wink
I would be interested in the Viognier as well, since Virginia does Viognier quite well I like doing side by side tastings a lot. Are the grapes sourced from Sonoma?
    See ya later.
    John
PS- thanks for adding me to your blogroll!!

  4. farley Says:

    John,

The Viognier is mostly from Santa Barbara, I think. I’ll email you about shipping wine!

  5. John Witherspoon Says:

sounds good - look forward to hearing from you.
