Get Your Passport to East Bay Winery Fun
Wineries in the East Bay, you ask? But of course! And more than you probably think. Of course, there’s Rosenblum Cellars, JC Cellars and Dashe Cellars. And maybe you’ve heard of Lost Canyon Winery as well. However, it doesn’t stop there. Throughout Alameda, Oakland, Berkeley, and Emeryville, there are over a dozen wineries scattered about. Some are quite small with no tasting room and some have limited hours that they are open.
That’s why you need to jump on the Urban Wine Trail—with a passport to the East Bay. The East Bay Vintner’s Alliance has put together an event for a little over two weeks from now that should be a load of fun.
The details—
What: Passport to the East Bay Wine Trail
What that means: tasting wines from urban wineries, some that aren’t usually open
What else: food pairings from local restaurants and live music at some locations
When: Saturday, April 5, 12-5 pm
Where: you can start at any of the 8 wineries and make your own map
Who: 13 wineries are participating (* by those who are hosting) Rosenblum Cellars*, Adams Point Winery*, Andrew Lane Wines, Aubin Cellars, Dashe Cellars*, Eno Wines*, Irish Monkey*, JC Cellars*, Lost Canyon Winery*, Periscope Cellars*, Tayerle Wines, Two Mile*, and Urbano Cellars
(If you noticed that I said 8 locations but there are 9 stars, don’t worry. Dashe and JC share a winery and tasting room)
How much: $30 in advance, $35 at the door
How to get your tickets in advance: click here, choose a winery to start, and purchase. Then bring your ticket to the winery you chose, to pick up your glass and passport and get tasting.
A note for safety. With shuttle services beyond the budget, we suggest either designating a driver, renting a bus or a limo, or eating a large breakfast and taking tiny sips (or spitting even!). We don’t want to send folks wobbling out into the world.
Cheers!
