Learn More About Wine While Having Fun

Friday, December 7th, 2007

take notes and have fun Learn More About Wine…
We just announced the list and dates of the wine education seminars Sean and I will be teaching next year, with Miguel’s help when he’s back.

Whether it’s for yourself or as a gift, what better location to gain more wine knowledge than at a winery? Especially one like Rosenblum where you know you’ll have fun…

Each seminar will be an intimate gathering designed to introduce you to specific aspects of wine, in an entertaining and informative manner. Wines, instructional materials, and, in some cases, food will be provided. All classes held at the Alameda Winery from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Next Wine Move

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

Dear readers and drinkers,

If you’ve been here only once or many times, you likely know how much I’ve enjoyed being here and writing about wine. Wine is what drives me and writing about it is my dream. But this venue has given me great opportunities that other writing gigs haven’t. I’ve made friends through this blog, some whom I’ve met, some only in conversations online. With my infamous bad memory, I now keep much better track of my tasting notes, usually accompanied by pictures, and can therefore remember what I thought.

Perhaps some of you have worried about the amount of wine I drink (my dad wondered if I should be in AA)… and maybe you should. However, I think most of you know this a very concentrated view because, after all, it was a wine blog. Besides, I work with wine all day, take trips where I can explore new areas that make it, center meals around it, spend way too much money on it.

With my new job, long commute, JFP column, and other non-wine-related items, I just don’t have the time to continue. I’m also leaving due to the other project I’ve been mentioning, which should be ready soon. It’s called Behind the Vines and should be ready in the next couple weeks.

Thank all of you for reading, for the comments, the support, the encouragement, and other well wishes. I’ve learned a lot and hope I passed on some of that to you. It’s been a great ride.

Goodbye, but only for now. Hope to see you all again at my next big adventure!

Cheers,
Farley
