A Sommelier Moves Onward
If you’ve been following my wine adventures at Rosenblum Cellars, if you’re a customer who stumbled upon me through the website or some search term, or you work at the winery, you surely know my friend Meg. She’s a bright spot in the tasting room, full of information and enthusiasm. She’s helped me every Friday morning with the weekly menu (we always spit, of course), brought us Sierra Nevada and pistachios in the afternoons, and bottles of bubbly after work. We’ve shared pasta, frustrations, scones, exhaustion, interesting wines, and happy times.
So it’s with mixed emotions that I bid her farewell. She’ll be off on new adventures, selling wine wholesale rather than retail for a fairly new company. That means new experiences, honing her knowledge and skills, and creating her own niche. We’re all sad, sad, sad to lose her. She keeps saying she’ll still be there every other Sunday, except that doesn’t do me, Kenny G, Gail, Kelly, or the rest of us any good. So yesterday I made Paula Deen’s chocolate bundles with dark chocolate truffles and brought in some sparkling wine, and we gave Meg a magnum of Annette’s Reserve Zinfandel that we had signed.
She promises not to be a stranger….and maybe now she’ll read my blog more to keep up with our adventures.

We are really going to miss Meg. She has been a true inspiration and has brought such a positive attitude with her every day! We really lost a good one! Good luck Meg!

Yesterday was the first day I went to work where Meg would have been there but wasn’t. As I was on my way there, I thought “I need to tell Meg about my trip home….oh, wait”
A sad realization.
